“ candy”

           He has 20 paintings on the walls of his house. His hands never stop creating masterpieces for himself. In a house that is not too big, he only lives alone. Every wall of the house is filled with canvases with various kinds of pictures, some in the form of animals, humans, nature, or abstract things that only the maker can understand. This is the story of a very perfectionist artist where painting has become an obligation in his eyes.

One day, the artist wanted to carry out his duty to paint. He walked to the warehouse near the kitchen to get canvases, but his canvas stock was running out. Suddenly feeling worried, he quickly took the piggy bank in the shape of a house made of clay and broke it. In the piggy bank, there is only enough money left to buy 1 canvas. Taking the available money, the artist goes out of the house hoping to get what he wants.

Arriving at the shop, the artist frantically rummaged through his canvases. He didn't want to waste his time. His eyes did not stop looking around the shelves in the store, like a chameleon's eyes. It's been 20 minutes of searching but he found none. Worry becomes fear. He asked the shop clerk whether their canvas stock was still there or not. The shop clerk with short wavy hair was confused. "Sorry we don't sell canvas.. the last shipment was 1 year ago.." the shop clerk stammered. the artist was surprised, unexpectedly that the customer shop bought the most important material and did not sell the canvas. He then lowered his head and apologized to the employee and then went home.

His breath hitched, his heart beat fast. Like after a marathon. The artist locked the door of the house with trembling hands. Suddenly, ..jep.. the lights in the living room turned on by themselves. In front of him was a canvas that had come from nowhere. In front of him stood a wooden chair that seemed to invite him to paint. The artist stood up and took 3 pieces of 'candy' which he immediately put into his mouth. It feels so happy to see the canvas that is ready to be created by him. He adjusted his sitting position to make it comfortable to paint. The artist begins to paint. His hands were no longer shaking, his body's state returned to normal.

2 hours have passed but the artist is still in the same position. occasionally he eats 'candy' while painting. The painter is painting a woman with a beautiful face. The woman seemed to be looking at the painter with a seductive gaze. They have an eyelock. Suddenly, woman bursts out of the canvas. The artist was so surprised that he fell backwards. The woman's hand is holding a red rose. The artist stood up, looked back at the moving image. Smiling woman, red rose held in hand given to artist. Even though the thorns of the flower he still accepts. The flower is placed in his right shirt pocket. His heart is now really very happy.

 5 days have passed. A neighbor called the police about a very strong fishy smell coming from the artist's house. Not long after, 2 policemen came and inspected the artist's house. To their surprise, they saw the artist was lifeless with a knife stuck right in his heart. The house is in a very messy state, medicine packets are scattered everywhere, graffiti on the wall is written with unclear words and canvases that are still wrapped in plastic are standing upright in the middle of the house. Police have concluded that the artist's death was caused by an overdose of psychedelic drugs and depression due to negative thoughts.
